I have been nursing a terrible tooth ache. A piece broke off my tooth eons ago and I never saw a dentist about it for a multitude of reasons(excuses), but this could no longer be avoided; I made an appointment to see a new dentist that I finally seen for the first time a couple of weeks ago.
I love this place!
I was immediate comfortable from the moment I walked in and breathed in the purified air (I'm serious, it was really nice). The employees were super accommodating and you can tell that they genuinely care about their patients. I don't know about you, but that means a lot when you're consider letting someone play around in your mouth!!
Now this tooth, is a wisdom tooth, but DAMN if it didn't take having to get it extracted (bright and early tomorrow morning) for me to actually gain a little more Wisdom! Take care of yourself folks, no one else is going to do that for you. And yeah I get that some of you out there might be champs when it comes to taking care of everyone else around you, but you can't do that unless you take care of yourself first.
Last Sunday evening I had had enough, I was ready to climb the walls when I decided to look in the library of herbal remedy books I have sitting on a bookshelf right across from where I sit when I'm working. Lo and behold I read that clove and mint are good for a toothache.
Naturally, I tried it. I made myself a delicious cup of Mint Tea, drank it, then I sucked on the tea bag for a while and to my pleasant surprise, it soothed the fiery (throbbing electrical currents) beast, go figure!
I knew I would find something in the wisdom I have gathered on that bookshelf. Yup, I probably could have looked it up on the internet, but I didn't. Perhaps I needed to physically hold a book in my hands and read the words, right there in front of my eyes, in order to gain the knowledge.
Once I had soothed the ache I went to bed and when I woke up the next morning it didn't hurt, so I temporarily thought...Hmm, maybe it's gone, maybe I don't have to call the dentist office to tell them I think it is infected and shooting pain in my upper jaw as well as the lower one where the culprit was nestled.
Then *WHOPPPP* like a punch in the mouth, the pain was back with a vengeance.
I made the call first thing Monday morning and subsequently was given a prescription for an antibiotic and my appointment was re-scheduled a week earlier than was originally planned.
The Lesson:
Wisdom tooth: "Do I have to kick your butt even harder to make you realize you NEED to take care of this NOW?!?"
"Don't make me take my boots out girl!"
Me: Ok, Ok, your wisdom has been received, I am sorry I didn't take better care of you before you had to be extracted.
TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FOLKS!
You're the only YOU we have in this world!
