I stumbled across this video that literally floored me. This artist lost a record deal when he was diagnosed with a chronic illness that affected his ability to perform. He also suffered from mental illness.
This video speaks to artistic struggles, to those with mental and chronic illnesses as well as to the battles and conflicts that we, as human beings, all contend with in life.
It is poignant, poetic, genuine, and raw. The visual aesthetics, the musical prowess, the lyrical brilliance, the play on words, the alliteration, the rhythm and rhyme, the cadence of his voice, and EVERYTHING about the depiction of this battle with himself is jaw-dropping, nothing short of genius. The message he delivers is a powerful punch to the gut all while tugging at your heartstrings.
We are ALL human beings.
We all need to be patient, kind, and loving toward ourselves, first and foremost, as well as to others.
I posted this about 2 months ago and meant to keep it as a draft, but if only one other person sees this video because of my post, it is worth it.
